The picture you see above is no ordinary ant. Its the infamous "Siafu Ant", also known as the "African Driver Ants". This amazing creature is about 10 times larger then a ordinary ant, I'm talking about the warrior ant of course.


 


The warrior ants has a over sized head with very strong pincers. When it bites it'll never let you go, like a pitbull. Its strong jaw will actually "dig-in" to you skin and you would have to squeeze its head so it'll let go. So if you come across one of these suckers, actually more like hundreds of em, don't try to squish em with your thumb. How the Siafu colony works is just simply amazing. When the ants are migrating or gathering food, its usually from point A to point B. Besides the Siafu ants when you observe any ant colony migrating, you'll notice that the worker ants and the warrior ants are moving together. Siafu ants executes there migration plan in a different way. If you step back and look at any ant migration its very unorganized and weak. Second you kill one of there little workers or even put your finger in there path, the colony panics and its formation becomes a riot.

When Siafu ants are harvesting food the warriors builds a path for its workers. First the warriors alone will search out a kill everything that is in its way securing the area. Then the warrior ants creates a wall or more like a tunnel for the workers to travel through and they prone themselves in that position. Then they lift there heads high into the sky and with its antenna it senses for any disturbance within the air waves, to be on the look out (like a radar basically). Isn't that amazing?! haha so disciplined-  even when they migrate, when the whole colony is traveling as a pack, some of the warrior ants will pause and sense for any change or disturbance in the air waves. Now when the Siafu ants are migrating, people of africa calls this "Nature's Armageddon". It will search and destroy everything that is in its way. No matter how tuff the path gets, the Siafu ants will break through and keep going till they have reached there destination.  They will literally kill everything, from bugs to lions and bears and even human-- even the Ant Eater gets killed. There is no animal that can stand a chance with these guys, of course for us human beings with have this beautiful spray called "Raid"-haha But there was a report of a local village person getting killed by the Siafu ants. What happened was this person was drunk and while in his sleep the ants when into his nose and plugged his lungs-- pretty intense.  You try and putting your finger in there path, your going to lose it. These Siafu Ants are just simply amazing.
